To Be Honest (henceforth liable to be referred to as TBH) is a simple ol' blog for teens to get advice from one of their own kind. So many teens these days go towards their friends and biased sources for advice on trivial, everyday issues. After receiving and compiling many good sources of information and level-headed advice, I figured I might as well create a comparably simple community for it. Anyone can participate - boys, girls, teens, kids, parents, adults, seniors, whoever wants to. And anyone is free to offer (safe, healthy) advice as well, because after all, two/three/eighty bazillion heads are better than one. Most of the time. ;)
As for who I am? I'm Emily Maria. I go by both names, or just Emily or Em. I'm a teenage girl (as if you couldn't tell) currently in high school. I admit to not having experienced everything about teen culture/counterculture yet, but I'm trusted as an advice giver. I clean up nicely, I'm respectable, and I enjoy talking all smart-like. Not having a completed education yet, I obviously have no therapy degree or whatever, so please take my opinions with a grain of salt (or two). Being a female, this blog will no doubt have more to do with female issues, and for that I'll apologize in advance to any male readers. I hope to offer a feminine perspective on guy's issues, though, to make up for that fact. After I gain more of a following, I'll hopefully be able to recruit a male co-blogger to help me with things I know nothing about (and perhaps am better off not knowing).
I'm pretty open-minded, though I defend my opinions ferociously at times. I won't tolerate hostility from myself or anyone else, because I want this to be a haven of sorts for those just wanting advice. I won't sugarcoat anything I tell you (general you). I'm also not afraid to talk about controversial issues - in fact, I quite enjoy debating and hearing opinions especially from other teens just starting to form these sorts of views. Upbringing, location, and a general difference of background creates a wide spectrum of beliefs, and so I'll always respect another's opinion so long as it isn't hateful or inflammatory.

If you have an issue going on, email that to me too, and I can either help you out privately or with a blog post. Nothing you say to me in confidence will be used or revealed to anyone, so have faith. I'm good at secret keeping. :)
